Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

The primary responsibilities of the Dy. Manager-Transmission PU Maintenance will encompass the comprehensive upkeep and optimisation of transmission power unit systems within Mahindra tractors. Key deliverables include:

• Maintaining operational efficiency by overseeing all maintenance activities related to transmission systems, ensuring minimum downtime and optimal performance.
• Proactively identifying and resolving chronic and recurring issues impacting system reliability, utilising root cause analysis and preventive strategies.
• Planning and coordinating spare parts management to ensure timely availability and cost-efficient inventory control, thereby minimising production delays.
• Leading preventive maintenance (PM) initiatives, ensuring scheduled maintenance tasks are effectively executed to uphold system integrity and safety standards.
• Conducting in-depth failure and breakdown (b/d) analyses to develop corrective actions and continuous improvements, fostering enhanced equipment durability and reliability.
• Driving safety adherence protocols specific to transmission maintenance operations, supervising compliance with company and industry safety standards to protect personnel and assets.
• Spearheading new project implementations related to transmission systems by collaborating with cross-functional teams, contributing to design validation, and facilitating smooth integration into existing production lines.
• Mentoring and developing maintenance teams by sharing technical expertise and encouraging a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum educational qualification of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, specifically in Electronics or a closely related discipline such as Bachelor of Technology.

A solid understanding of CNC machinery, drive systems, and product lifecycle management (PLM) tools is highly beneficial, as these skills enable the effective planning and execution of maintenance schedules aligned with production demands.

Proven experience in team collaboration and strong communication skills are essential to coordinate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and project management stakeholders.

The candidate is expected to demonstrate analytical thinking capabilities to interpret maintenance data and drive impactful process improvements.

Critical Experience

Critical experience for this position includes in-depth knowledge and practical application of maintenance strategies for transmission power units in tractor manufacturing, particularly within the scope of Mahindra tractors.

Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting chronic and complex issues, with a track record of implementing sustainable solutions that reduce downtime and enhance operational efficiency, is paramount.

Proficiency in spare part planning, encompassing inventory management and supplier coordination, is crucial to ensure seamless maintenance operations without disruption.

Experience leading preventive maintenance (PM) activities and conducting comprehensive failure/breakdown analyses is vital, enabling systematic identification of root causes and implementation of corrective actions.
