Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

1. As the Deputy Manager for Engine Maintenance within the esteemed Farm Division at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, you will play a strategic role in overseeing and leading all maintenance activities associated with tractor engines and related machinery. Your responsibilities will encompass the end-to-end management of troubleshooting, repairing, and optimising the mechanical power presses, EOT cranes, and associated hydraulic and pneumatic systems to uphold peak performance and reliability.
2. You will apply sophisticated analytical quality control techniques, embracing standards such as ISO certifications and Kaizen continuous improvement methodologies. By integrating tools like Value Stream Mapping, QC Story problem-solving approaches, and Machinery Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (MFMEA), you will drive sustained enhancements in equipment uptime, efficiency, and safety.
3. Your remit extends to closely monitoring critical metrics including Planned Maintenance uptime (PM), Mean Time To Repair (MTTR), and Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) across a variety of plant assets such as CNC machining centres, overhead cranes, diesel generators, compressors, and material handling equipment. Additionally, you will manage spare parts inventory with precision to ensure uninterrupted maintenance workflows.
4. Championing the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) PM pillar activities, you will lead efforts to embed a proactive maintenance culture that emphasises predictive and preventive strategies. This will involve devising and executing maintenance schedules that synergise operational requirements with manufacturing output goals through robust coordination with production, engineering, and quality assurance teams.
5. Ensuring adherence to all applicable occupational health and safety regulations, statutory mandates, and company policies is paramount. You will also maintain thorough technical documentation, records, and reports to support operational transparency and compliance audits. Collaboration, strategic foresight, and a results-driven mindset will be fundamental to excelling in this role and advancing Mahindra's mission to deliver reliable, innovative farm machinery solutions.

The role requires a proven track record of utilising advanced analytical and quality control tools to enhance equipment reliability and implement effective reliability-centred maintenance practices. Collaborative experience engaging with cross-functional teams, coordinating with service providers and spare parts suppliers, and managing vendor relationships will be highly advantageous.

Successful candidates will have demonstrated leadership capabilities in planning, scheduling, and executing preventive and predictive maintenance strategies aimed at maximising equipment availability, optimising operational costs, and reducing unplanned downtime.
