About the role
As our Duty/Emergency Worker, you'll play a critical role in ensuring children and young people are safely matched with the right care at the right time. As the first point of contact for placement referrals from the Department of Communities and support requests from foster carers, you'll assess referrals,
coordinate emergency, respite and foster care placements, and provide timely advice and crisis support.
Working closely with carers, families, the Department of Communities and internal teams, you'll respond to complex situations with professionalism and sound judgement, while monitoring
placement stability and ensuring children receive the care and support they need. This is a fast-paced and rewarding role that requires strong assessment skills, the ability to make informed decisions under pressure and a commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for children and families.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
