Job Description

The DUoS Billing Manager will be responsible for the management of the DUoS Billing and Income team.

ESB Networks is largely a regulated business that earns revenues as determined by the energy regulator. ESB Networks DAC invoices customers in its own name for Distribution Use of System (DUoS) charges, Public Service Obligation (PSO) Revenues and Transmission Use of System (TUoS) charges.

Income collected is remitted to ESB on a monthly basis with ESB Networks DAC acting as agent for ESB. The customers are other suppliers operating in the deregulated market and the applicable charges are based on both volume and standing charges which are set out annually by the Commission for Regulation Utilities (CRU).

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Ensuring accurate billing, invoicing and collection of DUoS, Transaction, PSO (Public Service Obligation) and TUoS (Transmission Use of System) charges.
  • Ensuring compliance with Billing procedures and practices.
  • Ensuring that a robust control framework exists for DUoS and that controls are operating.
  • Management of the Annual Rate Change – ensuring that testing and implementation of annual rate change as directed by CRU is completed accurately and on time.
  • Co-ordinating resources and activities within the team to ensure that work is delivered to the highest standard.
  • Developing and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Working with other teams across the business to address challenges/new requirements that arise in billing and cash collection.
  • Implementation of any IT Releases including Change requests, defects and prioritisation of system changes.
  • Managing team performance.

Experience and Qualifications

Essential

  • Third level financial/accounting qualification.
  • Minimum of 7 years relevant work experience.
  • Experience of managing a team.
  • Knowledge of finance process and systems.
  • Knowledge of Risk, Governance and compliance.
  • Demonstrate high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to identify areas for improvement, root causes and implement change.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of SAP.

Location

ESB Wilton, Cork.

Smart Working at ESB is designed to make ‘in-person’ time together as purposeful as possible while also enabling the effective use of digital tools and hybrid arrangements to preserve our commitment to flexibility. The successful candidate may work flexibly within the jurisdiction where they have been employed, with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaborationat least two days per week. All Smart Working arrangements are subject to regular review based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the business.

Salary

€71,000 to €84,000 per annum
