Position: Dual Rate Golf Shop/Outside Services Attendant
Department: Sewailo Golf Course/Golf Shop
Provide exceptional customer service assisting guests with outside support services as well as information and
tools that will create an unforgettable golf experience.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Interacts with patrons and provides excellent customer service
- Answers telephone and responds to guest's questions regarding merchandise, course rules, pricing, etc.
- Organizes and displays merchandise to Sewailo Golf Shop standards
- Assists guest with reservations in person and over the phone
- Assists in maintaining the Golf Shop, cart staging area, podium bag drop area, wash down area and Cart storage area.
- Operates a variety of office equipment, power washer and small hand tools
- Assist in the setup and execution of golf tournaments and outings.
- Prepares golf carts for play
- Performs range maintenance to include balls, bag stands, ball pyramids and maintains ball inventory over the course of the day.
- Helps to maintain golf shop inventory levels
- Informs the appropriate personnel when supplies are low and need to be ordered/replenished
- Sells merchandise and uses the POS/Computer/Cash Register to collect payment and/or make change
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Essential Functions of the position:
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly, with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Must be able to perform primary job duties while exposed to inclement weather, including extreme heat, cold, heavy rain, or high-humidity environments for extended durations.
- Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to reach, handle, pull, kneel, stoop, squat, twist, and bend for duties.
- Must be able to follow both verbal and written directions.
- Must possess basic reading and math skills that pertain to the position.
- Must be able to read, write, and effectively communicate with all guests and team members positively and professionally.
- Must be able to work and speak with the general public and guests.
- Must be able to work in a high-pressure/fast-paced environment.
- Ability to answer phones, provide essential information, and check in guests in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of standard operating procedures associated with golf shop, range maintenance, golf ball collection, and basic golf ball inventory levels.
- Knowledge of golf course rules and player etiquette.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Skill in multi-tasking responsibilities associated with the clubhouse, cart storage, parking lot, range, and cart barn.
- Ability to demonstrate a positive and professional image.
- Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.
- Ability to handle cash and count change.
- Ability to demonstrate an enthusiastic and professional attitude.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time in the designated work area.
- Ability to anticipate player needs and provide assistance promptly.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least one month of direct guest service experience and the ability to work in an outdoor setting in all weather conditions.
- Experience working in a golf course/facility, a golf shop, or any golf operations.
- Point of sale and/or reservations systems experience.
- Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, special events and overtime, as needed.
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening in accordance with company policy
- Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
- Must be able to obtain and retain a valid non-gaming license/background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
