Job Description

This position focuses on investigating the complex relationships between advanced composite manufacturing processes and the resulting mechanical performance of polymer-based composites. The role emphasizes expertise in curing kinetics, viscoelastic behavior, and the formation of process-induced defects that affect structural integrity and long-term durability. Using a combination of experimental techniques and computational modeling, the candidate will contribute to the development of optimized composite systems designed for high-performance applications, with a particular emphasis on wind energy technologies.

Responsibilities and qualifications

As a tenure-track researcher, responsibilities for this position will include:

  • Contributing to the advancement of research in curing dynamics, viscoelastic modeling, and process-induced effects in polymer composites.
  • Collaborating within a multidisciplinary team of ~34 researchers, engineers, PhD students, and technicians to drive innovation in composite materials and manufacturing.
  • Expanding and consolidating industrial partnerships focused on manufacturing optimization and performance enhancement of composite materials.
  • Successfully attracting external funding to support research in composite processing and its impact on mechanical behavior.
  • Publishing high-quality scientific work in international journals, with emphasis on curing, viscoelasticity, and composite performance.
  • Engaging in teaching activities and supervising students in related fields of materials science and mechanical engineering.
  • Disseminating research findings both internally and externally, contributing to the broader academic and industrial community.
  • Contributing and leading education activities on composite manufacturing

You must contribute to the teaching of courses. DTU employs two working languages: Danish and English. You are expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages, and in time are expected to master both.
