Salary: £25,877 – £34,240 per annum

We are looking for a DTOA Support Co-ordinator to join our Drug Test on Arrest (DTOA) service, providing support to individuals who have received a positive drug test following arrest within Northumbria Police custody suites.
This is a really rewarding and interesting role where you will work both within custody settings and out in the local community, providing individuals with the support, advice and interventions they need to reduce the risk of returning to custody, you will manage a caseload of individuals, working alongside them to understand their needs and develop personalised support plans.
You will carry out assessments, risk assessments and risk management plans, ensuring that people receive the right support at the right time. You will also provide brief interventions, harm reduction advice, signposting and onward referrals across areas including substance use, mental health, employment, gambling, violence and domestic abuse.
The role involves working closely with colleagues, custody staff and a wide range of external agencies and professionals. You will spend a significant amount of time working independently, while remaining part of a collaborative team.
You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records, completing case notes and ensuring information is recorded promptly on the relevant management information systems.

We are looking for someone who can build positive relationships with people and adapt their approach to meet individual needs.
You will need:
Experience of multi-agency working, working within a criminal justice or secure environment, and knowledge of harm reduction would also be beneficial.
Transferable experience is welcomed, so if you have the right skills and experience from another setting, we would encourage you to apply.
Please note: The role requires an Enhanced DBS with Adult Barred List check, alongside police vetting/NPPV Level 2.
