Fullstack Developer/Software Lead – LibreChat Platform

About the Role:

We’re looking for a Fullstack Developer to take end-to-end responsibility for the maintenance and further development of the Daimler Truck LibreChat platform as a software lead—our internal, GenAI-based open-source chatbot application. This role will work in close partnership with the Infrastructure Lead and Product Owner to ensure the platform is stable, continuously improving, and aligned with business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Application Ownership:
    • Own the full software lifecycle of the LibreChat platform at Daimler Truck, including feature development, maintenance, and bug fixing as the software Lead.
    • Ensure platform stability and security in collaboration with the Infrastructure Lead.
  • Feature Development & Innovation:
    • Decide, design and implement Daimler Truck–specific features on top of the LibreChat open-source codebase both in backend and frontend based on user feedback and community driven.
    • Optimize model configuration and performance (e.g., RAG API usage, prompt engineering, context injection).
  • Open Source Contribution:
    • Actively contribute enhancements and improvements back to the upstream LibreChat project in coordination with the core maintainers.
    • Track and integrate new releases from the community into our internal deployment.
  • Tech Stack (Mandatory):
    • AWS Infrastructure (Lambda, ECS, etc.)
    • EntraID
    • Docker
    • JavaScript / TypeScript
    • React
    • Python
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Partner closely with the Product Owner to translate user and business needs into technical features.
    • Work hand-in-hand with the Infrastructure Lead to deploy and scale platform components.
    • Support internal stakeholders by implementing product feedback and helping scale the platform sustainably.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 12+ years of Fullstack development experience using the before-mentioned Techstack skills on AWS Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Very good experience maintaining and improving production-grade applications.
  • Familiarity with GenAI technologies and working with large language models (LLMs) is a plus.
  • Experience in contributing to open-source projects.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
  • A proactive, ownership and leadership-driven mindset with a passion for building great.
