Performs routine and specific specialized diagnostic sonographic imaging procedures at a level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail under direction of a radiologist. Assists physicians with interventional ultrasound-guided procedures.

Job Duties:

  • Performs diagnostic sonographic imaging procedures.
  • Performs quality control and quality assessment.
  • Assists physicians with interventional procedures.
  • Ensures the day to day operations run smoothly and issues are reported promptly.
  • Participates in staff in-service program.
  • Help schedules patients.
  • Keeps area supplied and clean.
  • Assists with orientation of new staff and students.
  • Assists clerical area when needed.
  • Perform HIS/RIS/PACS functions.
  • Maintains equipment to decrease downtime and overtime expense.
  • Participates in performance improvement and quality assurance initiatives.
  • Other job duties as needed, including diagnostic images if sonographer has ARRT license

Licenses and Certifications:

  • American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Required
  • BLS CPR certification for healthcare providers Required
  • License renewal must occur within two weeks of expiration date Required
  • Employee must be RVT and/or RVS and RDMS registry eligible upon hire. Employee will be required to obtain RVT and/or RVS and RDMS within first 18 months.
  • Revocation or inability to maintain licensure and/or registration may result in termination
