About the role

Step into a rewarding role as a Nursing Assistant where you will bring excellent customer-facing skills and a genuine passion to deliver an exceptional service to our donors.

You will play a key role in supporting our donors through their donation process. Full training is provided so, along with the above, all you need is the curiosity and motivation to learn the process of collecting blood and biological product.

A day in the centre could see you:

  • Greet and interview potential donors to understand their eligibility and suitability to donate
  • Create a donor experience they’ll love and want to come back Complete routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests
  • Set up machines and collections equipment
  • Insert and remove needles safely to collect whole blood, plasma, and platelets
  • Monitor donors post-donation and assist them with rebooking their next donation
  • Work collaboratively to achieve collection targets
  • Travel across SA to our regional pop up locations to help collect blood and biological product

No previous blood collection experience is required. Our paid training program blends hands-on practice with online learning to set you up for success. What’s essential is your passion for delivering an exceptional donor experience, supported by proven customer-facing experience that you can draw on in every interaction. Customer service experience is highly regarded.

Your skills in action will include:

  • Apply your customer-facing experience to create positive, welcoming interactions
  • Be comfortable with needles and blood/biological materials
  • Occasionally lift between 9-22.7kgs
  • Support and foster a fantastic team culture
  • Frequently stand, walk and bend to set up and pack down machines and blood products
  • Be flexible to work varied shifts on a fortnightly rotating roster from Monday to Sunday, including weekends and afternoon shifts
  • Work at our static donor centre as well as our Pop Up locations across SA with occassional overnight stays required.
  • Have a valid drivers licence

This role is being offered on a permanent part-time basis, working 60 hours per fortnight across a rotating roster across Mon-Sun that may change each fortnight. The position is based across both our Regent Arcade Donor Centre and our Pop-Up locations throughout South Australia. When working at Pop-Up locations, regional travel and overnight stays will be required.
