Under the general direction of the Department Manager, the Warehouse Team Manger provides leadership and direction for all activities associated with receiving, warehousing, shipping and inventory management.

The Team Manager is responsible for warehouse functions including staging, shipping, receiving, distribution, control and storage of raw materials and packaging materials, elimination of operations starved losses due to warehouse, cycle count accuracy, space utilization, shrink, scrap, and coordination with the third-party logistics (Transplace). This Team Manager initiates, coordinates and oversees the activities of the crew leads and technicians engaged in activities such as receiving, storing, cycle counting, scheduling trucks, truck management, and shipping raw or finished good materials. The Team Manager also engages the materials team, quality team, production, and customer service as needed. The Warehouse Team Manager proactively ensures and is accountable for safety, quality, productivity, sanitation, continuous improvement and all aspects of people management.

The goal of the Team Manager is to meet the needs of the internal and external customers 100% of the time and drive improvement activities through the development of people and processes while achieving key performance indicators that support the departments’ strategic objectives, goals, strategies and measures.

This Team Manager will rotate through all three shifts regularly to ensure constant and regular interaction, direction setting, and leadership support with shift Crew Leaders and team members.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads the warehouse team in all safety and quality objectives
  • Direct and support the daily management and prioritization of team members to meet or exceed all performance standards, including safety, quality, reliability, cost, waste, cycle count accuracy and sanitation.
  • Develop strategies to continuously improve and effectively maximize storage space, and improve the flow through the plant and warehouses
  • Responsible for warehouse process optimization, working with third-party logistics partner (Transplace), drive creative supply chain design solutions including managing operational perfection on a daily basis
  • Effectively lead, coach, train and develop team members, while fostering a team environment.
  • Drive improvement activities through the development of people and processes.
  • Pro-actively recommend and implement process improvement initiatives to increase operational effectiveness and efficiencies.
  • Partner with Maintenance, Engineering and Continuous Improvement resources to execute TPM and CCI processes.
  • Interact cross functionally to resolve issues and ensure that customer service requirements are met.
  • Leads root cause analysis when required.
  • Develops and ensures all functional procedures and best practices are documented, regularly evaluated and continually improved.
  • Integrate high performance culture and work with teams to develop cultural and business action plans to ensure continuous improvement throughout the plant.
  • Aligns and empowers his/her team members in a way that excites and motivates them to meet or exceed common objectives.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years related experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience supervising employees in a warehousing / production / industrial environment
  • Strong ability in warehouse capacity planning and productivity improvement
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and tenacity to resolve problems and implement process improvements.
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities to assess risk and opportunities
  • Demonstrated understanding of the financial impact of business decisions effecting staffing, product components and inventory
  • Experience successfully leading teams to support business initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to be a dynamic self-starter, work independently and apply sound judgment to solve complex problems
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to resolve issues
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Ability to propose and implement improvements to systems, methods of work and analysis methods and contribute to ensuring that they are continuously adapted to the business requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel and PowerPoint skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • APICS Certification
  • Knowledge of SAP or other enterprise resource planning tool
  • Food manufacturing industry experience
