Valley Forge Medical Center is seeking a Drug and Alcohol Counselor who is passionate about helping individuals rebuild their lives in recovery.
In this role, you will play a meaningful part in supporting clients on their journey to recovery from substance use disorders. You will provide compassionate clinical care, structure, and guidance within a supportive multidisciplinary team environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Complete comprehensive psychosocial and other clinical assessments as indicated.
Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings, presenting clear and concise patient updates and clinical impressions.
Complete all required documentation in the EMR in accordance with regulatory, utilization review, and quality assurance standards.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and communicate pertinent patient information as needed.
Provide crisis intervention when clinically necessary.
Attend required trainings, meetings, and professional development sessions.
Education & Credentials:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in human services), or a related field preferred.
Certification such as AAC, CAAC, CADC, or CAADC through the Pennsylvania Certification Board preferred.
Professional licensure through the Department of State and/or PCB credentialing preferred.
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Plus every 6th weekend rotation
Compensation:
$54,000–$62,000 annually

We have multiple programs available including our "Breakthrough" Addiction- Free Chronic Pain Program, our Medical Recovery Unit (MRU), and our Addiction Program which provides all inpatient levels of care (both Hospital and Non-Hospital) as well as detox and rehabilitation.
Since 1951, VFMC has operated in East Norriton, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Our 86 bed facility is located on a spacious, serene, wooded campus.
