Team: PPT - Public Transport

Job Family: Providing - CBG 3 and CBG 4

Salary:

Passenger Assistant (CBG3) - £25,185 per annum pro rata, or £1 3.06 per hour

Driver (CBG4) - £25,583 per annum pro rata, or £13.27 per hour

Hours: Various Hours available - Relief 0 hours – as required by the service. And 25 hours per week - Full year and TTO Staff.

Base Location: Sandy Depot, Beamish Close, Sandy, SG19 1SD

Contract Type: Relief/ Permanent - Fixed

About the role:

Our Fleet Department are currently hiring Driver and Passenger Assistantsto join our dedicated team. We have various contracts available, including relief contracts which provide cover for when our full time staff are absent through holidays, sickness or other reasons. Regular work is available and in some cases, Relief staff may be able to work up to 25 hours per week, although this is not guaranteed. Full training will be given, and we also supply uniform and allowances for equipment.

Our Fleet Transport team provides safe, efficient transport for a range of residents. They include older people, those with disabilities and children with special needs. The service allows these people to access educational and day care facilities – helping to make Central Bedfordshire a great place to work and live. As a Driver and Passenger Assistant, you’ll be a key part of the team. All of our staff are based at our Sandy Depot

We are looking for enthusiastic and compassionate individuals to safely transport clients and pupils using council minibuses and tail lift equipped vehicles to and from various day centres, schools and other establishments as required.

The successful candidate must:

- Have a category D1 driving license (Driver role only)

- Provide a caring and reliable service to our customers

- Be patient and understanding

- Be aware of issues surrounding disability, dementia and special needs

- Be punctual and polite

- Treat every customer with dignity and respect
