Job Description

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

Responsible for daily pick-up of food donations from local vendors and assisting in maintaining daily operations and cleanliness of the food pantry.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Pick up food daily from local vendors
  • Record, weigh, and log temperatures of donated items
  • Assist in receiving, unloading, shelving, and keeping inventory of food
  • Sort and distribute donated bread, sweets, chips, and other food items while keeping appropriate records
  • Maintain cleanliness of company vehicle
  • Become food safety trained as required through the Cleveland Food Bank
  • Record in-kind donations received through pantry/warehouse
  • Represent the ideals and integrity of The Salvation Army in the highest possible ethical and moral business conduct
  • Other miscellaneous duties as required

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum High School Diploma

SPECIAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Background check is required through the Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation (BCII)
