We’re looking for a Driver / Operator to join our Fulton Hogan team in Petone You’ll operate plant and machinery, complete hands-on labouring tasks, and support safe, high-quality delivery on site, helping us deliver good work for our customers safely, on time and to a high standard.

Mō te tūranga | About the role

This is a hands-on role where you’ll operate plant and machinery, pitch in with general labouring tasks, and help deliver good work safely, on time and to a high standard. You’ll be out in the field, working alongside a supportive crew that backs each other and gets stuck in. If you’re practical, reliable and keen to learn, this is a solid first step on the Fulton Hogan ladder.

Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities

  • Operate Plant, machinery and tools you are trained, competent and licensed to use.
  • Complete General labouring tasks such as lifting and shifting materials, operating hand-held equipment, and measuring and cutting materials.
  • Take Part in pre-start meetings, risk planning and daily toolbox discussions before work begins.
  • Follow Safety, environmental and quality processes, and speak up if something does not look right.
  • Use StaySafe questions on the job and push pause whenever safety is at risk.
  • Report Incidents, near misses and hazards so we can keep improving how we work.
  • Support Your Supervisor or Foreman with any other reasonable site duties, including occasional night shift when projects need it.

  • Class 2 and W, T, R endorsements.
  • Experience in trenching.
  • Strong focus on safety and wellbeing, with the confidence to speak up when needed.
  • Reliable, proactive and team-focused approach to work.
  • Practical Skills and comfort with hands-on, outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
  • Curious attitude, willingness to learn, and pride in doing a job well.
  • Respect For others, a positive attitude, and a down-to-earth approach that fits a good crew.
