You will be responsible for ensuring all plant machinery is presented, serviced, maintained and operated in a professional, safe and efficient manner that complies with all relevant legislation, regulation and policy and achieves agreed productivity and quality targets.

This role supports our Queenstown team on maintenance initiatives and urgent repair work across the network. You will be working on a unique and stunning alpine network in the areas of Queenstown and Wanaka, conducting routine, winter and emergency maintenance to ensure the upkeep of infrastructure, providing safety to the public.

Based in Queenstown, this is a permanent, full-time position, primarily working Monday – Friday however flexibility to pick up occasional weekend work, rostered winter maintenance work, and on-call shifts may be required.

Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills

Along with a positive attitude and your commitment to safe worksite practises, you will have a proven ability to ensure proper care, maintenance and operation of appropriate plant and equipment. You will also have:

  • Class 1 -2 Full New Zealand driver’s licence

  • Wheels, Tracks & Rollers (WTR)

  • Experience in transporting, loading and unloading machinery

  • Ability to work hands-on and unsupervised as well as within a team

  • Experience operating in the civil construction industry (desirable)

  • Solid attitude to get stuck into any task at hand.
  • The flexibility to work late nights and weekends is also required.
