Abound Health is hiring a Driver / Transportation Specialist to provide safe, reliable transportation and light caregiving support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This role focuses on transporting clients to and from day programs and community activities while offering minimal hands-on support as needed. This role includes consistent weekly transportation hours:
Monday: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Tuesday–Friday:
• Morning Route: 8:00 AM – 9:30 AM
• Afternoon Route: 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM
This is a great opportunity for someone seeking steady part-time hours with predictable routines.
As a Driver / Transportation Specialist, you will provide hands-on support that helps individuals access their communities safely and confidently. Responsibilities include:
• Safely transport individuals to and from day programs, appointments, and community activities
• Assist passengers entering and exiting the vehicle as needed
• Provide light to moderate caregiving support (hygiene reminders, minimal hands-on assistance)
• Build positive relationships and support individuals in achieving personal goals
• Encourage independence and help individuals develop new skills
• Monitor health and safety while maintaining a supportive environment
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the vehicle
• Communicate with Abound team members, families, and external parties as needed
• Complete documentation and maintain schedules
• Participate in paid onboarding and ongoing training

• Must be 18 years or older
• Valid driver’s license, current automotive insurance, and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass criminal record, driving record, and healthcare registry checks
• Willingness to assist with light personal-care needs when necessary
• Lifting may be required depending on client needs
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities is not required — we provide paid training
Starting Pay: $17.50/hour (flat rate)
