What can you expect to be doing?

We have 32 shops around Somerset, all contributing valuable funds that support our Hospice services, supported by a logistics operation which is managed centrally from our Taunton Warehouse – this is where you come in.

As Driver/Warehouse Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring that our warehouse and logistics function operates in a professional and cost-effective way, while keeping excellent customer service at the heart of everything you do.

Your work will include:

  • Helping to ensure that the day-to-day organisation of the warehouse meets the needs of our shops.
  • Providing holiday and absence cover for our warehouse team.
  • Maintaining health and safety standards within the warehouse.

What will you be good at?

You will need:

  • A track record of successful delivery driving a 3.5 tonne vehicle.
  • Alongside the more practical skills required, you will have an empathetic approach to customer service and teamwork.
  • As this role requires travel across the county to undertake deliveries to our stores, a full valid driving licence will be required.

St Margaret's Hospice Care

About St Margaret's Hospice Care

St Margaret’s Hospice Care is a registered charity which has been at the heart of Somerset’s community, making each day count for over 45 years. We strive to delivery of high quality, responsive, compassionate care to patients and their families facing a life-limiting illness.

Through our medical expertise, nursing skills and specialist support services, we provide physical, emotional and spiritual care to over 5,000 patients and their families each year.

We put our patients at the heart of all we do; treating symptoms, controlling pain and caring for their emotional, psychological and spiritual needs. We support the whole family through a wide range of services such as intensive care in our In-Patient Unit, care at home, complimentary therapies and bereavement support for those who need it. We also support a wide range of support to carers, young and old. We provide care and support for families and friends for as long as they need us. We rely on over 1900 volunteers to help deliver our care.

Hospices are normally associated with cancer. We care for anyone with a life-limiting illness including motor-neurone disease, cardiac failure, renal failure, chronic respiratory disease and other life-limiting conditions.

We provide our services for free. St Margaret’s is a charity – we are not part of the NHS. Our income comes from the NHS and charitable sources from our local community. It costs over £15m each year to deliver our care. We are dependent upon the generosity of our Somerset community to help raise £12million.
