Job Description

• Safely operate heavy-duty trailer trucks, tractor heads, flatbed trailers, low-bed trailers, container trailers, or other assigned trailer configurations.
• Transport equipment, machinery, materials, containers, and other cargo to and from project sites, warehouses, ports, and customer locations.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer.
• Check tyres, brakes, lights, coupling systems, fluids, safety equipment, and other critical components before starting each journey.
• Ensure cargo is properly loaded, positioned, balanced, secured, and protected before transportation.
• Follow approved loading, unloading, lashing, and cargo-securing procedures.
• Verify delivery documents, permits, trip sheets, gate passes, and other required transportation documents.
• Follow assigned routes, delivery schedules, and instructions from the Transport/Fleet Supervisor.
• Maintain good knowledge of UAE roads, highways, industrial areas, ports, and major project locations.
• Comply with UAE traffic laws, speed limits, vehicle restrictions, and company driving procedures.
• Strictly follow company HSE policies, defensive driving requirements, and site safety procedures.
• Immediately report accidents, breakdowns, vehicle defects, cargo damage, delays, or other incidents to the supervisor.
• Maintain the assigned vehicle in a clean, safe, and roadworthy condition.
• Maintain accurate trip records, mileage, fuel consumption, delivery records, and vehicle inspection reports.
• Coordinate with dispatchers, logistics personnel, site supervisors, clients, and loading/unloading teams.
• Assist with safe positioning of the trailer during loading and unloading operations.
• Ensure all vehicle documents, including registration, insurance, permits, and inspection certificates, are valid before operating the vehicle.
• Perform basic vehicle checks and report maintenance requirements promptly.
• Observe company rules regarding working hours, rest periods, parking, and vehicle security.
• Perform other transportation-related duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Minimum Secondary School / High School education preferred.
• Valid UAE Heavy Vehicle / Trailer Driving Licence is mandatory.
• Minimum 3 years of proven experience as a Trailer / Heavy Vehicle Driver; UAE experience preferred.
• Experience operating flatbed, low-bed, container, or heavy equipment trailers is an advantage.
• Experience transporting heavy machinery, construction materials, containers, or project cargo is preferred.
• Experience in the UAE/GCC transportation or construction industry is an advantage.
• Familiarity with UAE roads, industrial areas, ports, and major project locations.
• Clean and responsible driving record.
