Essential Functions of the Job:
To come to work with a positive, professional approach and attitude.
To deliver product in a professional and efficient manner to farm and commercial customers.
Must have the ability to operate the metering system in the vehicle for customer billing.
Collect payment from customer as required.
Fill out daily declining balance report.
Complete a pre-trip inspection every morning before operating the truck.
Must be able to operate tandem/tri-axel trucks; Class 1 or 3 license with air endorsement.
Responsible to maintain and clean the delivery unit.
Responsible for loading and unloading petroleum products on the bulk truck and end use containers.
Keep accurate and timely driver reports and logs.
Record driver hours of service.
To be familiar with and adhere to Co-op policies and procedures.
To always practice safe handling procedures with all product and equipment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to problem solve
To be able to work effectively with other staff, supervisors and customers
Education and Experience:
Previous NH3/Fertilizer/Chemical experience an asset
Must produce a clean drivers abstract
Must hold a valid class 1 or 3 driver’s license with air brake endorsement
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certification
