Responsible for the safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation of participants with physical and mobility limitations. Ensures that participants are transported to and from designated locations in a timely manner while upholding the highest standards of safety, service, and dignity. Requires close interaction with participants, caregivers, and the care team to support participant-centered care.
Essential Functions

Responsible for operating specially equipped vehicles, assisting participants with varying levels of mobility, and supporting overall participant safety.
Operates vans equipped with wheelchair lifts to transport participants safely and on schedule. Assists participants with loading/unloading, operates wheelchair lifts, and secures wheelchairs and mobility devices using appropriate tie-downs.
Ensures that passengers get on and off the van safely. Respond quickly and appropriately to medical or safety emergencies following established protocols.
Responsible for maintaining established schedules, adjusts schedules to meet unanticipated changes, determines the safest and most efficient pick-up and delivery routes.
Performs daily pre- and post-trip inspections, maintain vehicle cleanliness, and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns.
Collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team to share observations or concerns about participant safety and well-being. Communicates any changes in participant condition to team members.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Education - High School diploma or equivalent OR post-high school diploma/highest degree earned
Experience - No experience required. One (1) year of experience with a frail or elderly population preferred.

Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses
A valid driver’s license; an acceptable motor vehicle record, as defined by the Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Chart.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficiency with basic computer operations, including email, and navigation of common software programs.
Advanced skills with mobile devices (smartphones and tablets), including app usage, and navigation of scheduling or communication platforms.
