Mō te tūranga | About the role

We’re looking for a Class 4 Driver/Operator to join our Northland team and help deliver quality work on the ground every day. In this role, you will work alongside the Regional Sealing teams, carrying out driving, operating, and labouring duties to keep work progressing safely, on time, and to a high standard.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys practical outdoor work, takes safety seriously, and likes being part of a team that supports each other. You’ll report to a Foreperson or Supervisor and play an important part in frontline delivery, including incident response and rostered on-call shifts.

Ngā tino kawenga mahi | Key role responsibilities

• Complete driving, operating and laboring tasks as directed by your Foreperson or Supervisor to support safe, efficient delivery of surfacing and roading projects.
• Only operate machinery and tools that you are trained, competent and licensed to use.
• Support site readiness by taking part in pre-start meetings, risk planning, lifting and shifting materials, and keeping the workplace clean and tidy.
• Follow all safety, quality and environmental processes, report incidents and near misses, and look for better and safer ways of working.

• Current Class 4 and license as a minimum, with W, T, R endorsements.
• Class 5 will be beneficial
• At least 2 years’ practical experience in a similar role.
• Experience and understanding of traffic management requirements on sites.
• A safety-first mindset, a reliable and team-focused approach, and a willingness to learn and build skills.
