Mobility Champion / Paratransit Driver

Reporting To: Operations / Transport Supervisor

The Mobility Champion plays a critical role in providing safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation services to passengers with disabilities, special needs, seniors, and students. This position requires a strong sense of responsibility, patience, and professionalism while ensuring compliance with UAE road safety regulations and company service standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate paratransit and light vehicles in compliance with UAE traffic laws and company policies
• Provide respectful, individualized assistance to passengers, including children, seniors, and individuals with disabilities or special needs
• Safely operate wheelchair lifts, securement systems, ramps, and other accessibility equipment
• Conduct thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness
• Follow assigned routes and schedules efficiently, using GPS and dispatch instructions when required
• Maintain accurate records of mileage, trips, passenger details, and daily vehicle logs
• Communicate clearly and professionally with dispatchers, supervisors, passengers, and caregivers
• Deliver a high standard of customer service with empathy, patience, and cultural sensitivity
• Respond calmly and appropriately to emergencies, delays, or unexpected route changes
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly vehicle interior at all times
• Complete required reports including incident, accident, and maintenance concerns
• Practice defensive driving and adhere to all health, safety, and risk-prevention standards

• Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational needs

Qualifications & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of professional driving experience
• Experience transporting seniors, individuals with disabilities, or students is highly preferred
• Ability to work in all weather conditions

• Clean driving record

Licensing & Certifications

• Valid UAE Driving License – Light Vehicles (Mandatory)

• Ability to pass background checks, medical examination, and drug screening

• Completion of required training programs as per company and regulatory standards

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Fluency in English is required; proficiency in an additional language is highly preferred

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately

• Physical capability to assist passengers, including lifting and operating specialized mobility equipment

• Calm, composed, and decisive in emergency situations

• Patient, compassionate, and respectful toward diverse communities and cultures

• Strong problem-solving and communication abilities
