Examples of duties

This position supports customer service, document review, and testing activities that help ensure safe and lawful driving across the state. The role also involves answering questions, processing applications, and guiding customers through licensing requirements. As a Driver License Examiner Assistant, you will perform the following duties:

  • Customer Assistance: Greet customers, provide forms, and guide applicants through required steps for licensing services
  • Document Review: Examine identification documents to confirm authenticity and prevent fraud
  • Testing Support: Administer knowledge tests and vision screenings to evaluate applicants readiness for licensing
  • Data Entry: Enter application information and test results into online systems accurately and efficiently
  • Service Guidance: Respond to customer questions and explain requirements for REAL ID, commercial licensing, and other services
  • Compliance Tasks: Follow policies, fee waiver guidelines, Title VI requirements, and Driver and Vehicle Services customer service standards

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Work overtime and travel to other Driver License Centers when needed
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
