Watkins Distributing is a family owned and operated beverage distribution company that has serviced Idaho and Montana for four generations.
Job Summary:
Driver helpers are responsible for helping with local delivery activities within a defined territory.
This position provides delivery support for the truck route serving Sidney and Glendive.
Reliable transportation is required. Either a company vehicle will be provided, or mileage reimbursement will be paid for use of a personal vehicle.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist delivery drivers with delivering product in a safe, timely, and professional manner
- Unload product from delivery vehicles using pallet jacks, hand trucks, and proper handling techniques
- Deliver and move product into customer locations, including navigating stairs, tight spaces, and varying environments
- Stock coolers, shelves, and displays at customer locations at time of delivery
- Rotate product in accordance with company standards
- Pick up and return empty kegs and damaged product as assigned
- Assist with verifying deliveries and completing required documentation
- Communicate effectively with delivery drivers, sales representatives, supervisors, and store personnel
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies at all times
- Perform all duties in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner in accordance with productivity standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Preferred Skills & Abilities:
- Valid driver’s license and no major driving violations.
- Strong time management, attention to detail, and communication skills.
- Must be able to navigate a hand truck full of product.
- Ability to utilize standard hand-held computer input/output devices.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Must be able to lift and move cases ranging from 20 - 30 lbs. regularly and 160 lbs. to waist level. Tasks include bending, squatting, reaching, and standing for extended periods.
- Work independently across multiple retail locations throughout the shift.
- Operate delivery vehicle safely in frequently varying weather conditions.
