Job Summary:
The Driver Compliance Specialist will be responsible for the driver qualification process, monitoring compliance with applicable safety regulations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Audits and reviews driver qualification files for compliance.
- Makes decisions regarding driver eligibility based on FMCSA regulations and company protocols.
- Conducts coaching sessions with management and drivers as necessary.
- Maintains driver records in Workday and SharePoint.
- Handles customer complaints related to drivers.
- Maintains DOT records in accordance with regulations.
- Interprets and applies FMCSA regulations and company policies to determine driver qualification status and identify compliance risks.
- Conducts research, compiles data and creates reports as necessary.
- Attends team meetings and company training sessions as required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Working knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Act (FMCSA) and Occupational Safety Hazard Act (OSHA) regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficiency with, or able to quickly learn, HRIS system.
- Must have a current driver’s license and auto liability insurance.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Prior risk and safety experience, preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be available afterhours, including weekends to support stores via phone, email, and text.
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds at times.
