The The Commercial Vehicle Driver is primarily tasked with operating large trucks, delivery vans and other Carilion vehicles to make equipment and supply deliveries between the various Carilion Clinic facilities. In addition, the Materials Management Driver (Commercial Vehicle) must be prepared to perform the activities of a Warehouse Materials Associate II including: standard receiving and stocking tasks, such as unloading delivery trucks, sorting items by receiving priority, identifying and documenting damaged deliveries, rotating inventory, storing materials for easy access at primary pick locations, and performing quality assurance (QA) activities. Must adhere to VA DOT requirements for the size and weight of vehicles used.
The Commercial Vehicle Driver
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in warehouse setting and use of all non-powered and powered equipment to include forklifts and pallet jacks. Required experience with warehouse requisitioning and order picking. Experience required in the operation of a large commercial vehicle (non CDL).
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Valid VA Driver's License with positive driving record required.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Must possess a driving record within the scope of Carilions Driver Regulations. Manual dexterity of eye, hand / foot, good motor skills and depth perception are necessary when driving Excellent organizational skills to include critical thinking, attention to detail, interpersonal skills, and written/oral skills. Must be proficient in the use of standard warehouse equipment including forklift, personal lift devices (WAVE), and power jacks. Must be customer service oriented. Proficiency in basic computerization skills and demonstrated ability to utilize (or learn to utilize) inventory management systems/software, email communication system, and customer service portal.

Compensation Range:
$17.39 - $24.35
Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
