GFL Environmental is looking for a Commercial Front-Load Truck Driver (Class 1 or 3) to join our team in Dawson Creek, BC! The Truck Driver - Class 1 or 3 will be responsible for safely, efficiently, and courteously providing commercial waste removal services to our business customers. In this role, you will operate a heavy-duty front-load truck, utilizing hydraulic forks to lift and empty commercial bins, and transport the materials to post-collection facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
Operate a commercial front-load waste collection truck, including the hydraulic fork assembly and compaction systems, to service commercial and industrial customers.
Maneuver heavy vehicles into tight commercial spaces, alleys, and loading docks to align forks with container pockets safely.
Get in and out of the cab to open enclosure gates, roll out containers, or ensure the area is clear of obstructions before servicing.
Operate truck mechanisms to compact waste into the vehicle while monitoring load capacity and weight distribution.
Maintain route quality standards and efficiency as predetermined by dispatch and management.
Exhibit a professional demeanor and appearance at all times when interacting with commercial clients and property managers.
Conduct daily pre- and post-trip inspections, maintaining a clean vehicle cab and reporting any mechanical issues immediately to eliminate driver-induced failures.
Maintain accurate digital or paper records of services performed, blocked bins, or extras picked up.
May be required to work overtime as business needs dictate.
Requirements:
Must possess a valid Class 1 or Class 3 Commercial Driver’s License with an air brake endorsement.
Proven experience (or strong mechanical aptitude) operating heavy equipment, hydraulic systems, or commercial front-load vehicles.
Excellent spatial awareness and ability to judge overhead clearances, wires, and tight turning radiuses.
Strong backing skills; ability to use mirrors effectively to maneuver distances of 120 feet or more into narrow commercial corrals.
Physical stamina to exit and enter the high-cab truck repeatedly throughout the day (up to 60+ times per shift).
Ability to exert muscle force to push or pull heavy commercial dumpsters on wheels (frequently lifting/moving up to 25 pounds, and occasionally pushing/rolling bins weighing up to 100 pounds).
Sitting is required up to 75% of the time due to the primary function of driving.
