Job Description

Under the direction of the supervisor, delivers food, runs errands, delivers inter-office mail, and picks up and delivers supplies and/or equipment. Performs light maintenance and repair and cleaning duties at designated sites. May transport clients and staff as required and if so, maintains order during the trip. Adheres to organization policies, safety rules and local traffic regulations in the operation of the organization vehicle. Uses safe procedures in loading and unloading passengers.

Job Qualifications
• Must have high school degree or equivalent.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license for the State of Ohio with less than two points on his/her driving record, a CDL license is a plus.
• Must be able to safely and competently operate vehicle.
• Must be able to supervise passenger conduct according to recommended procedures.
• Must be able to give and to follow good verbal and written instructions.
• Must conduct self in appropriate and safe manner.
• Must be able to work flexible hours.
• Must have an awareness of and sensitivity to the cultural diversity of the population served.
• Will be able to pass a FBI/BCI background check.
• Physical requirements include ability to lift up to 75 pounds safely and ability to climb and descend stairs independently while transporting supplies, equipment, and/or food.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Using recommended safety procedures, transports designated individuals/groups to needed programs/services.
• Responsible for maintaining order and safety procedures by passengers.
• Follows local traffic laws and procedures in the safe operation of the vehicle.
• Inspects tires, gas, oil and water to assure that vehicle is kept in safe operating order.
• Responsible for requesting proper maintenance and repair of vehicle.
• Delivers food, responsible for compliance with Early Learning food handling requirements (such as temperature logs).
• Runs errands, delivers inter-office mail and picks up and delivers supplies as required.
• Performs light maintenance, repair, and cleaning duties at designated sites as required.
• May use dollies and other moving equipment/tools to perform duties.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
