The Mental Health Association of Columbia-Greene Counties Inc. is looking to fill a part-time driver position.

The Mental Health Association of Columbia-Greene Counties, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Transportation Driver to join our team. The transportation driver safely operates agency vehicles to transport clients to various MHACG sites. They ensure passenger safety, assisting with getting in and out of vehicle as needed. Drivers must ensure and maintain agency vehicles are in good operating order and maintain cleanliness.

POSITION TYPE: Part Time-10-15 hours per week

PAY RATE: $16.50 per hour.

WORK LOCATION: Hudson, NY

SHIFT SCHEDULE: Monday/Wednesday 10:00am-2:00pm and Friday 8:00am-1:00pm

Job Duties:

  • Passenger Assistance: Providing "door-through-door" or "curb-to-curb" service, assisting passengers with mobility aids (wheelchairs, walkers) as needed.
  • Safe Transportation: Adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations to ensure prompt and secure transport.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Completing daily trip logs, mileage reports, and pre/post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Communication: Interacting professionally with supervisor, fleet manager, and passengers.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Monitoring vehicle fuel and fluid levels, cleanliness, and scheduling routine maintenance
  • Skills: Strong communication, patience, compassion, and basic knowledge of local geography/GPS navigation, basic computer knowledge to input data.
  • Physical Ability: Ability to assist clients with lifting and securing items, as needed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must maintain a valid NYS driver’s license acceptable to Agency insurance standards, clean MVR, and reliable transportation.
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to last-minute schedule changes.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Regular and consistent attendance is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, and internet programs.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse population, including urban, suburban, and rural communities with varying socioeconomic backgrounds.
