About the Role:

The Driver position is critical to ensuring the safe and timely transportation of goods across various locations within the United States. This role involves operating commercial vehicles such as dump trucks and box trucks to deliver materials efficiently while adhering to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing routes, maintaining vehicle condition, and ensuring compliance with safety standards to support overall transportation management objectives. This position requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate diverse routes using maps and GPS technology. Ultimately, the Driver plays a vital role in supporting warehousing operations and supply chain logistics by facilitating the smooth movement of goods from origin to destination.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A.
  • Proven experience in truck driving with knowledge of DOT regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret maps and GPS navigation systems.
  • Strong understanding of transportation management and warehousing processes.
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass background and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience operating dump trucks and box trucks.
  • Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and transportation management software.
  • Additional endorsements on CDL such as hazardous materials (HazMat) or tanker endorsements.
  • Previous experience in a logistics or supply chain environment.
  • Basic mechanical skills for minor vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate commercial vehicles including dump trucks and box trucks safely and efficiently in compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Plan and follow designated routes using maps and GPS to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to maintain safety and operational standards.
  • Load and unload materials as needed, coordinating with warehouse personnel to ensure accurate inventory handling.
  • Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and delivery records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and customers to provide updates and resolve any delivery issues.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to minimize risks and ensure a secure working environment.
