Qualifications and Experience:

  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) certificate.
  • Valid Kenyan Driver’s License (Class D - D1/D2/D3) with PSV endorsement.
  • A valid certificate of good conduct.
  • Must have experience in driving with a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
  • Driving experience in an educational set-up will be an added advantage.
  • Certification in Defensive Driving or First Aid will be an added advantage
  • A basic understanding of the mechanical aspects of vehicles will be an added advantage.

The position

The Aga Khan Education Service, Kenya (AKES, Kenya) operates five schools in Kenya and provides nursery to senior secondary education in both national and international curricula. It is part of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), a group of private development agencies working to improve living conditions and opportunities for people of all faiths and origins in specific regions of the developing world.

The Aga Khan Academy, Nairobi (AKA, Nairobi) is an IB continuum school in Kenya authorized to offer the International Baccalaureate curriculum (IB) from Early Years through the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), and the Diploma Programme (DP). With over 1000 students, AKA, Nairobi is a multi-cultural school with a variety of nationalities represented in our student and teaching faculty.

The Aga Khan Academy, Nairobi - Senior School has an opening for the position of: Driver

The driver will ensure that the vehicles are in good condition and well-serviced at all times with the required documentation. S/he will drive the school staff and other stakeholders within Nairobi and its environs. They driver is expected to maintain professionalism in the daily operations and interactions with all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport staff, students and visitors for school activities and official duties.
  • Support logistical arrangements for school events, trips and sports fixtures.
  • Collect and deliver mail, documents and packages as required.
  • Run administrative errands and make minor purchases when assigned.
  • Pay utility bills and school-related charges as instructed.
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks and report maintenance needs promptly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and good condition of assigned vehicles.
  • Keep accurate trip, mileage and fuel records.
  • Follow all traffic laws, safety rules and school policies.
