The Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of materials, equipment, and products in support of Storm Smart’s operational and installation activities. This role ensures compliance with all safety regulations, traffic laws, and company policies while maintaining accurate vehicle and delivery records. The Driver supports daily logistics operations, assists with loading and unloading, provides local delivery support to all Storm Smart branches as needed, and contributes to overall workflow continuity and jobsite readiness through additional operational support when required.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Safely transport materials, equipment, and products to and from designated locations in a timely and efficient manner.
- Provide local delivery support to all Storm Smart branches as operational needs require.
- Load, unload, and properly secure materials to prevent damage or loss during transport.
- Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure vehicles are in safe operating condition and compliant with safety standards.
- Accurately document deliveries, including mileage, delivery times, and any incidents or discrepancies.
- Adhere to assigned routes, delivery schedules, traffic laws, and all company safety policies.
- Communicate clearly with dispatch, team members, and jobsite personnel regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Assist with warehouse, yard, or jobsite support tasks as needed, including inventory checks and light maintenance duties.

QualificationsRequired Skills/ Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of safe driving practices and applicable traffic laws.
- Ability to safely operate company vehicles while transporting materials, equipment, and products.
- Attention to detail with the ability to accurately complete delivery logs, mileage reports, and inspection records.
- Physical ability to load, unload, and secure materials, including lifting, carrying, and maneuvering items as required.
- Strong time management and organizational skills to meet delivery schedules and support multiple branch locations.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with dispatch, warehouse staff, field teams, and branch personnel.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to company policies and safety procedures.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic mechanical awareness to identify vehicle issues and report maintenance needs promptly.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing routes, schedules, and operational priorities.
Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
- Previous experience in a delivery, driver, warehouse, or logistics role preferred.
- Experience operating company vehicles and transporting materials or equipment in a professional setting preferred.
- Familiarity with basic vehicle inspections and safe loading/unloading practices preferred.
- Experience working in construction, manufacturing, or home improvement environments is a plus.
- Previous MRP system experience is a plus.

The work environment for this position predominantly involves manufacturing facilities and construction sites, specifically in un-airconditioned spaces, where the employee can expect exposure to fluctuating noise levels ranging from moderate to loud.  In addition to working in high temperatures
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this position, employees may be required, with or without reasonable accommodation, to bend, move, lift, and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance from coworkers or the use of mechanical aids when appropriate.
Employees may be required to stand for extended periods, up to eight hours per day; work in varying indoor and outdoor weather conditions; and be exposed to elevated noise levels. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including hand, eye, and hearing protection, must be worn as required.
