Job Description

The Driver is responsible for transporting goods island wide efficiently, accurately and safely while ensuring excellent customer satisfaction.

Duties & Responsibilities

In the main your role will be primarily, but not exclusively, that of:

• Supervising and assisting with the proper handling and safe loading/unloading of goods, making sure to prevent any damages.
• Ensuring that goods being transported are checked thoroughly and corresponds with relevant documentation.
• Completing assigned deliveries in a timely and customer friendly manner.
• Resolving any discrepancies and escalating requests for returns and other customer complaints to management.
• Collecting, safeguarding and submitting COD payments and any documentation after each delivery.
• Maintaining vehicle interior and exterior appearance by cleaning and washing.
• Coducting basic servicing and maintenance of vehicles on a daily basis to ensure road worthiness. 
• Reporting, requesting and following up on necessary repairs and servicing of vehicles.
• Ensuring that the vehicle records (i.e., fitness, registration, insurance, carriers’ licence, etc.) are up-to-date and are always present in the vehicle.
• Securing the vehicle at all times.
• Reporting all accidents involving the vehicles (minor or otherwise) promptly to management.
• Ability to work overtime if the need arises.
• Strict adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Any other duty that may be assigned within the scope of the job.

Qualification & Skills Requirement

• High School Diploma.
• Proven experience of at least 5 years as a Driver.
• Licensed to drive motor truck in excess of 7000kg laden weight.
• Be self-motivated with the ability to work in a team environment.
• An understanding of warehouse operations and procedures.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Jamaican Road Code and Road Traffic Act.
• Ability to multitask with strong numeric proficiency
• Competent in the use of handheld device.
• Clean driving record and excellent defensive driving skills.
• Ability to interact with customers and other stakeholders with excellent interpersonal skills.
• May be required to lift up to 50 pounds without the use of a trolley.
