Play a vital role in supporting Defence operations

The role

As a Driver, you will support the day‑to‑day activities of the Military Transport Section, ensuring the safe, professional and timely movement of personnel and vehicles. You will help maintain vehicle standards, provide high‑quality customer service and ensure all duties are completed in line with required procedures. Your work will directly support an important defence contract, helping keep operations running smoothly and safely.

Day-to-day, you will be:

  • Carrying out driving duties across the Military Transport Section, delivering excellent customer service.
  • Completing daily vehicle inspections before use, reporting any faults and maintaining cleanliness to required standards.
  • Supporting the cleaning and presentation of customer‑supplied vehicles.
  • Providing flexibility for occasional weekend work or overnight tasks depending on customer requirements.
  • Upholding all safety, compliance and operational procedures while representing the organisation professionally.

This is a full‑time, onsite role, working Monday to Friday within the operating hours of 07:00 to 19:00, with occasional overtime, weekend work and overnight stays as needed.

Essential experience of the Driver:

  • Understanding of Ministry of Defence practices (desirable).
  • Experience in a customer‑focused driving or transport role is beneficial.

Qualifications for the Driver:

  • Passenger Carrying Vehicle licence (Category D1 or D), including hire and reward.
  • Driver Certificate of Professional Competence.
  • Driver digital tachograph card.
  • Knowledge of tachograph rules and compliance requirements.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
