The Drilling Performance Coach role is to support well delivery operations by driving continuous
improvement in drilling e��iciency, safety, and cost control. The role is focused on coaching,
mentoring, and guiding drilling teams to adopt best practices, optimize rig performance, and
achieve the operators well delivery objectives.
Key Responsibilities
• Monitor and analyse daily drilling KPIs (i.e. ROP, flat time, NPT, connection times).
• Identify ine��iciencies and provide actionable recommendations to rig and o��ice teams.
• Benchmark performance against project targets and industry best practices.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to Drilling Supervisors, Drillers, and rig crews.
• Conduct on-the-job training, toolbox talks, and performance workshops.
• Strengthen crew competency and operational discipline through regular engagement.
• Support planning and execution of drilling operations, including DWOPs, pre-spud
meetings, and after-action reviews.
• Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and contractors to ensure safe and e��icient
operations.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving performance-related challenges.
• Capture lessons learned and drive consistent implementation across all wells.
• Support adoption of performance-enhancing technologies and tools.
• Lead initiatives to minimize NPT and improve overall well delivery performance.
• Promote compliance with HSSE standards and foster a strong safety culture.
• Lead by example in safety leadership and operational discipline.
• Reinforce proactive risk management and continuous performance improvement.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Minimum 8 years related experience in o��shore drilling operations supervision
• Have certificate, diploma or degree in related technical field
• Have completed IWCF or IADC (supervisor level) well control training
• Good English communication skills
• Fit for o��shore work
