IOTA Group is looking for an experienced Drill Support Vessel Superintendent to join the teams of a leading international energy company and contribute to a major offshore development project in Suriname.

Based between Paramaribo and the offshore project locations, you will oversee the safe and efficient execution of Drill Support Vessel activities supporting drilling, completion, subsea construction and field operations.

Job Description

As Drill Support Vessel Superintendent, you will act as the Company Representative onboard the vessel and serve as the main operational focal point for the planning, preparation and execution of vessel activities.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Supervise and coordinate Drill Support Vessel operations supporting drilling, completion, subsea and field activities.
  • Act as RSES(D) onboard the vessel and ensure compliance with the project Emergency Response Plan.
  • Coordinate emergency response activities within the vessel’s area of responsibility.
  • Ensure all operations are performed in accordance with Company HSE requirements, marine standards and applicable international regulations.
  • Lead the coordination of COMOPS and SIMOPS activities involving Marine, Drilling, Completion, Subsea, UFR, Field Operations, Geomatics, HSE and contractor teams.
  • Coordinate the mobilization of personnel, service companies, ROV systems, lifting equipment and third-party packages onboard the vessel.
  • Review operational programs, risk assessments, lifting plans and readiness requirements prior to execution.
  • Support vessel mobilization, integration, commissioning, acceptance and operational readiness activities.
  • Participate in engineering assessments, risk evaluations and testing activities when required.
  • Monitor vessel performance and operational readiness while minimizing operational delays and non-productive time.
  • Maintain effective communication between offshore and onshore stakeholders throughout the different phases of the campaign.
  • Ensure operational risks, issues and performance matters are reported and escalated in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Vessel Superintendent or Client Representative onboard offshore construction or support vessels.
  • Minimum 5 years of COMOPS and SIMOPS coordination experience.
  • Significant offshore experience involving drilling, subsea construction, ROV or marine operations.
  • Previous experience acting as a Company Representative onboard an offshore vessel.
  • Strong knowledge of offshore HSE requirements, emergency response procedures and international marine regulations.
  • Ability to review operational procedures, lifting plans, risk assessments and readiness documentation.
  • Valid BOSIET certification and offshore medical certificate.
  • Fluent English is mandatory.
  • Strong operational coordination, communication and reporting capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary and multicultural project environment.

  • Location: Paramaribo, Suriname, and offshore onboard the Drill Support Vessel
  • Starting date: Target Q4 2026
  • Duration: 36 months
  • Rotation: 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off
  • Candidate origin: Open to expatriate and international candidates
  • Accommodation, transportation and all mission-related expenses are fully covered by the Company.
