Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Drill Fitter to join our Mining – Geotechnical team at our KCGM (Kalgoorlie), WA operations. This will be on going, long-term project work.

Both full-time and casual positions available. Local to Kalgoorlie or FIFO from Perth. Roster is 8:6 – day shift only.

The Role

The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Project staff in all aspects of the daily business activities associated with the maintenance services on Site.

This role would ideally suit someone who has a positive attitude towards safety, training & environment. Good communication and organisational skills, with an emphasis on teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performing scheduled drill servicing across;
  • Custom Built High Reach Drill Rigs on Kato SR300L & Kato KR25H-V6 Crane Chassis,
  • Sandvik DX800R Remote Control Drill Rigs.
  • Vermeer Directional Drills
  • Manitou MTX-1840-A Telehandlers W’ Work Platforms
• Performing unscheduled repairs
• Maintaining and servicing ancillary light vehicles, LV trailers, heavy support trucks, mobile air compressors, shotcrete & grout machines
• Technical guidance & field service support to operations personnel
• Training & support to other SRG employees
• Liaison with OEM’s & suppliers on technical issues and parts requisitions
• Onhire / Offhire Inspections of Equipment

The successful applicant will have:

• HR Divers Licence
• Drill Fitter Trade Certificate
• A working knowledge of Sandvik and Epiroc top hammer drilling equipment
• Pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol assessment
• Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance

Desirables

• Refrigerant Handling Licence
• Working knowledge of Crane Carriers
• High Risk Work Licence - HRWL - DG (Dogman) or RB (Rigging).
