Job Description

Drill Fitter | 2:2 FIFO | Mt Ida

Aurenne is a privately owned company bringing fresh, innovative thinking to the mining sector. We challenge the norm, back our people, and get things done - safely and smartly.

Our team‑first culture, modern camp facilities, and commitment to doing things right make Aurenne a great place to work. With our own airstrip, and expanding operations, this is your chance to join a company where your skills will be valued - not lost in the crowd.

We’re seeking a skilled, hands‑on Drill Fitter with solid experience maintaining, servicing, and repairing drills in mining or heavy industry. Based at Mt Ida on a rewarding 2:2 roster, you’ll work closely with our maintenance team to keep our fleet operating safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. If you’re motivated, experienced, and prefer getting the job done without unnecessary paperwork holding you back, this is the role for you.

We are a family‑friendly company getting back to mining roots. We encourage people to think, make decisions, and keep the job moving forward. Roadblocks have been removed, and autonomous work is not only encouraged—it’s possible. This is a full‑time, hands‑on role employed directly, with an immediate start available.

At Aurenne, everyone plays an integral role in our shared success. Join us, and become part of a team where innovation, teamwork, and safety come first.

Scope of work:

We are looking for a Drill Fitter to join our team. The scope of work will include but is not limited to maintenance, servicing, diagnostics and breakdown attendance for our drill rigs. We require someone with experience working on T45 rigs, however, will consider applicants with exploration drill rig experience too.

The suitable candidate must be able to trouble shoot, complete servicing and ensure the rigs are in good working order prior to every shift. Working out of the mobile maintenance workshop primarily, however you will be required to attend drill sites to check and monitor the rigs and assist with any breakdowns or concerns. All of these sites are on our tenements, and pits, and all are within approx. 40kms from site and workshop.

This is a FIFO position with a point of hire of Perth or can be DIDO from Kalgoorlie. The roster is 2:2 - day shift only. This is an exciting opportunity to join an owner operated mine - we do things differently at Aurenne.

What’s in it for you:

  • Permanent position - no more contracting, no more worrying about a project coming to an end. We have at least 5 + years mine life ahead of us.
  • Owner operated site - Be seen and valued for your contribution. Meet the owners on site.
  • 2:2 FIFO from Perth or DIDO from Kalgoorlie | We fly with Skippers - no long lines here.
  • Competitive salary + Super + 10% bonus. (The bonus has been consistently paid since inception)
  • Small team, great culture – be recognised, not just a number AND go back to the same camp every night
  • Salary sacrificing, discounts, and employee assistance program
  • Referral program - Get paid for working with your mates
  • Great food, permanent rooms, well set out gym and a tavern that you thought only existed in Perth.

About you:

  • Australian recognised Trade Certificate - Engineering Mechanical Fitting or HD Mechanics.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role working on drill rigs within the mining or a related industry.
  • Own tools.
  • Current Australian manual drivers' licence.
  • Unrestricted Australian working rights.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment medical and hold a national police clearance
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • EWP – High Risk. (Desirable)

If you’re hands‑on, enjoy solving problems, and want to join a team that approaches work differently - apply now!

We believe in an equal opportunity work force and encourage Women and First Nations People to apply.

About Aurenne Group Mining

Established in 2018, The Aurenne Group is a privately owned gold exploration & mining company whose focus is on select gold projects determined to be worthy of Aurenne's time and capital.

Being a relatively new entrant into the Gold Mining Industry, Aurenne is consistently & carefully building both its human and physical resources.

Aurenne has a highly stable financial structure to drive its expansion & endeavours at all times to conduct itself with the highest level of innovation & integrity. The project has entered the construction phase to establish a 1.2 mtpa CIL gold plant by April next year. Mining operations will commence in October this year.

As a company, Aurenne will let the strength of its reputation speak to the quality of its business and Team. Being apart of the ‘Team’ is a key component of the work experience. Accordingly, Aurenne provides it's Team with the tools they need to succeed - whether it be new equipment for new projects, it's own airstrip to facilitate easy site access, or the construction of it's new Forest Cabin Village at Mt. Ida - which is truly second to none.

The Aurenne Group is is now seeking suitably qualified, experienced and enthusiastic people to join the Team. Aurenne is always conscious of the need to focus on its people as the key to being successful – so we take a different approach. Unlike other companies that focus simply on the 1 day a month they pay their staff, at Aurenne we focus just as much on the other 29 days. With the new Mt. Ida project underway, we are actively seeking those that want to be different. This is the "Aurenne Difference."
