The Disability Resource Centre (DRC) is a resource and a service centre that facilitates academic accommodations for students with disabilities and/or chronic medical conditions. One of the services that the DRCprovidesisexamsupervisionDRC ExamInvigilators provideinvigilationforUBCOstudents’examsin asmall group, private, and online environments. Students who write exams with the DRC are from all faculties and departments at UBC's Okanagan campus.
Organizational Status
TheDRC iscomprisedofaManager,1Receptionist, 1 Administrative Assistant,5 AccessibilityAdvisors,1Programsand Operations Coordinator, and 4 Exam Coordinators.This position reports to the Programs and Operations Coordinator.
Work Performed
1. Supervise/invigilateexamsaccordingtoUBCpoliciesandDRC proceduresandguidelines.
2. Administerexamaccommodationstostudentsasdirectedbythe DRC.
3. MaintainexamsecurityinaccordancewithUBC policyandDRCprotocols.
4. OtherdutiesrelatedtothepreparationofexammaterialwithintheDRC.
5. Examsmaybeinvigilatedintheonlineenvironmentand/orin-personenvironmentasrequired
6. OtherdutiesrelatedtoandinsupportoftheexamadministrationprocessesasdirectedbyDRCstaff.
Consequence of Error/Judgement
Invigilatorsdealwithuniquesituationsthatrequiresoundjudgment,goodunderstandingofthepoliciesand practicesguiding theirwork, andanability tomake sounddecisions.Any errorsindecisioncouldpotentially have operational, legal, and financial repercussions for the faculty, students, staff, and the department.
Diplomacyisrequired wheninteracting withfacultyand staff.Allinformationmust beaccurateandprovidedin a respectful, timely and supportive way. The confidentiality and security of the information being handled and discussed is of utmost importance. Failure to provide service that meets these standards may create hardships for students with disabilities seeking academic Accommodation, compromise the relationship of the Disability ResourceCentrewithserviceconsumerswhomayexperiencemarginalizationordisadvantageasaresultofthe interaction, or negatively impact the public image of the unit and University.
Supervision Received
InvigilatorsreporttotheProgramsandOperationsCoordinator, andtheday-to-daymanagementofschedules and duties is be managed by the Exam Coordinator team. Invigilators do not supervise other staff.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
Preferenceisgivento graduate students who have a TA assignment as per the collective agreement.
Training requirements
- Completemandatoryonlinetrainingmodulesrelatedtoinvigilation.
- CompletemandataryUBCemployeeonlinemodulese.g., PrivacyandInformationSecurity Fundamentals training course; Workday training.
- Mustbeabletoattendoneofthemandatoryin-persontrainingsessions.
Other requirements
- Abletoprovideyourdailyscheduleofavailabilityfortheterm.
- This position is shift work that is scheduled according to the exam requests that DRC receives and invigilator availability Tests and exams may occur 7 days a week (Monday-Sunday), between 7:00am and 9:30pm (PST). As such, incumbents mustbeavailabletowork occasionaleveningsandweekendsduringtheregulartermandavailableforthese times more regularly during the 2-week formal final exam period. More details will be provided during training
