Te kōwhiringa| The Opportunity

You will work within our Gisborne team to deliver a range of infrastructure drainage & reticulation works. Ideally, you will have an interest in the following type of capital works; construction of water, wastewater and stormwater reticulation upgrades, backflow prevention and testing to meet contract specification.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll be out in the trench, delivering essential infrastructure that keeps communities running.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Construction of wastewater, stormwater and drainage assets

  • Installation of PVC, PE and concrete pipes, manholes, catchpits and chambers

  • Working across wastewater and stormwater projects

  • Reading and interpreting plans, drawings and specifications

  • Confined space work and live network tie-ins

If you take pride in quality workmanship and enjoy being part of a tight-knit crew who get the job done safely and to a high standard - we want to hear from you. We are also looking for someone who:

  • Holds a recognised drain laying qualification – Level 3 Drainlayer certification as a minimum, and be registered with the PGDB-Plumber, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Board

  • Is confident working hands-on - not just supervising

  • Communicates well and works effectively within a team

  • Has a strong safety and quality focus

  • Holds a Full Class 1 or 2 driver’s licence

  • Can plan ahead, think on their feet and respond to unexpected challenges
