Job Description

Temp to hire (non-exempt) $16-$20/hr

The Drafter/Engineering Technician I support engineers in the design components, parts assemblies, and to create bills of materials.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years experience.
• Associates degree or certification is preferred.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Excel & SolidWorks CAD.
• Demonstrates understanding of industry & document standards.
• Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Reads blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, or engineering instructions to create parts list and bills of materials.
• Creates engineering drawings, bills of materials and modifies existing drawings.
• Analyzes manufacturing tolerances and fabrication methods to help ensure part/assembly manufacturability.
• Analyzes dimensions, symbols and specifications, and collaborates with engineers to clarify design details.
• Prepares test setups, conduct electrical, environmental, agency tests, record data and test results.
• Maintains records of completed tasks and able to track and present project status.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The working conditions will mostly be a well-lit, air-conditioned office environment.

Physical Requirements

This position must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. as well as have the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time. Physical requirements of the position may also include, but are not limited to, bending, twisting, and lifting.
