Drafter - Architectural Metal - Base Salary to 65k/year - Hughesville, PA

• Our client, an established manufacturer of specialty architectural and building products, is seeking a Drafter to join its engineering and manufacturing team. The Drafter will create, modify, and maintain engineering and manufacturing drawings used to support standard and custom manufactured products. This position works closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, and other internal teams to translate customer and project requirements into accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings, SolidWorks models, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and production documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Create and modify 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models for manufactured products and components.
• Utilize SolidWorks to develop models, assemblies, engineering drawings, and production drawings.
• Prepare detailed manufacturing and fabrication drawings for production personnel.
• Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) associated with drawings and product configurations.
• Review customer orders, project requirements, technical specifications, and existing product information to determine drafting requirements.
• Modify existing products, CAD models, and drawings to accommodate custom customer and project requirements.
• Utilize existing standard products and components when developing custom product configurations.
• Create drawings that clearly communicate dimensions, materials, components, tolerances, and fabrication requirements.
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, manufacturability, and compliance with established engineering standards.
• Process drawing revisions and incorporate red-line changes and engineering updates.
• Maintain accurate drawing revisions, engineering documentation, and production documentation.
• Create and update product and manufacturing documentation required for production.
• Work with Engineering to resolve technical and design-related questions.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing and Production personnel to resolve drawing, fabrication, or assembly questions.
• Coordinate with Sales and other internal departments to clarify customer and project requirements.
• Research previous projects, drawings, and existing products when developing similar or customized designs.
• Identify opportunities to utilize standard components and existing designs to reduce unnecessary customization.
• Support the transition of completed designs and production drawings from Engineering into Manufacturing.
• Assist with resolving discrepancies involving drawings, BOMs, materials, and production documentation.
• Ensure drawings and documentation accurately reflect final product configurations.
• Maintain organized electronic engineering and drawing records.
• Support drafting, documentation, standardization, and manufacturing process improvements.

Qualifications:

• Professional CAD drafting/design experience.
• Hands-on professional experience using SolidWorks.
• Ability to create and modify 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models.
• Experience producing manufacturing, fabrication, or production drawings.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, dimensions, and product requirements.
• Understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and their relationship to drawings and manufactured products.
• Ability to communicate and coordinate with Engineering and Manufacturing personnel.
• Ability to work from the Hughesville, PA location according to the position's required work schedule.

Compensation:

• Base salary in the 50k - 65k/year range
