The DRAFTER will be responsible for providing engineering support on mechanical equipment, perform tolerance studies and check design documentation, research and specify purchased component parts, and create component and system level test plans and test fixtures.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and produce electrical drawing packages, including schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and BOMs.
  • Create 3D models to support panel design and electrical integration into existing units.
  • Prioritize drawing production to support project schedules so purchasing and production can begin on time.
  • Coordinate with engineering, the panel shop, and project managers to ensure drawings meet design intent and field requirements.
  • Incorporate redlines, revisions, and feedback cleanly across drawing revisions.
  • Maintain accurate drawing records, revision control, and as-built documentation.
  • Verify drawings comply with applicable standards (NEC, UL 508A) and company drafting conventions.
  • Support component selection and ensure BOMs reflect correct part numbers and quantities.
  • Assist in standardizing drawing templates and improving the drafting workflow for consistency and speed.
  • Communicate drawing status, bottlenecks, and concerns to the Electrical Integration Manager in a timely manner.
  • Maintain organized digital file structures and drawing libraries.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficiency in CAD software and 3D modeling (e.g., AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs.
  • Familiarity with industrial control panels and components such as PLCs, VFDs, and control wiring.
  • Knowledge of UL 508A and NEC standards preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple drawing packages under deadline.
  • Experience in oil and gas or industrial equipment integration a plus.
