Location: 203A Log Canoe Circle, Stevensville, MD 21666-2128
Work Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday
Pay Range: $25 - 35/hr
Hydrasearch is seeking a detail-oriented Drafter to join our engineering team in Stevensville, MD. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining technical drawings and supporting production for our premier recreational and commercial marine product lines.
While the primary focus is recreational and commercial marine products, the position operates within an AS9100-certified engineering and quality management environment, requiring disciplined documentation practices, configuration control, and adherence to structured engineering processes. This role is well suited for a detail-oriented drafting professional who enjoys working closely with engineering, quality and manufacturing teams in a hands-on production environment.

What You'll Do:
Technical Drafting: Create detailed 2D and 3D part and assembly drawings.
Design Collaboration: Work closely with Design Engineers to develop manufacturing-ready documentation, including exploded views and inspection-intent drawings.
Precision Standards: Apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5 to ensure components meet strict tolerances.
Configuration Control: Maintain drawing revisions, title blocks, and history.
BOM Management: Support the creation and maintenance of accurate Bills of Material (BOMs).
What We're Looking For:
Required Qualifications
Education: Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field OR relevant drafting or professional CAD training/experience may be considered in lieu of formal degree.
Experience: 3+ years of drafting or CAD experience specifically within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated experience creating 2D and 3D mechanical drawings using professional-grade CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor).
Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret engineering sketches, notes, and technical specifications to produce manufacturable drawings.
Documentation: Proven experience maintaining drawing revisions and version control within a PDM or structured filing system.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Standards: Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) per ASME Y14.5.
Industry Experience: Previous experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment, such as AS9100, ISO 9001, or MIL-SPEC.
Manufacturing Knowledge: Familiarity with specific processes like CNC machining, metal fabrication, or fluid-conveyance assembly.
System Management: Experience with BOM (Bill of Materials) management and ERP system entry.
