DPSS Employment Service Advisor | 10321 | 6 Month Temporary Contract | 37 hours per week | £29,064 to £31,022 per annum (Scale F) | County Hall, Norwich

Are you passionate about supporting people with disabilities to live independently and confidently manage their own care teams? Do you have the HR knowledge and interpersonal skills to guide individuals through the full employee lifecycle?

We’re looking for a dedicated Employment Support Advisor to join our dynamic Direct Payment Support Service (DPSS) team. You’ll play a vital role in empowering over 1,400 disabled employers to recruit, manage, and retain their own Personal Assistants (PAs), supporting them to maintain choice, control and dignity in their everyday lives.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Providing expert HR advice and guidance to Direct Payment employers.
  • Supporting recruitment by co-producing job adverts and descriptions with customers.
  • Coaching individuals through interviews, performance management, grievances, and disciplinary processes.
  • Offering tailored advice that reflects the diverse needs and abilities of our customers.
  • Occasionally attending home visits and job fairs to provide in-person support.
  • Working in a hybrid model — both from home and our office.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A strong understanding of disability and the barriers people may face in employment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt your approach to suit different people and situations.
  • Solid knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • CIPD Level 3 (or equivalent) preferred, OR relevant experience in providing employment advice, including TUC or union-based employment support experience.
  • A genuine passion for inclusion, empowerment, and person-centred support.
