The Designated Person Ashore (DPA) serves as the critical link between shipmasters and top management. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe operation of our passenger fleet and full compliance with environmental regulations. The DPA will oversee, verify, and continuously improve the Safety Management System (SMS/SMK) both ashore and onboard.



Key Responsibilities

  • SMS Documentation & Control: Draft, update, control, and distribute all documents related to the company's Safety Management System (SMS/SMK), including Risk Management documents and the Integrated Contingency Plan.
  • Liaison & Communication: Act as the primary link of communication between the Shipmasters (Masters) and Top Management, ensuring safety policies are clearly implemented.
  • Safety & Environmental Monitoring: Monitor and verify the effective implementation of safety, security, and environmental protection policies on all vessels through routine inspections.
  • Auditing & Evaluation: Design, organize, and execute internal and external audit programs, and conduct management reviews with top management to evaluate SMS effectiveness.
  • Incident & Incident Analysis: Manage, analyze, and investigate non-conformities, accidents, and near-misses in collaboration with relevant departments to implement corrective actions.
  • Emergency Response: Organize, lead, and facilitate Emergency Response Team (ERT) meetings and safety meetings to ensure high readiness for critical incidents.
  • Training & Development: Plan, organize, and monitor training programs related to the ISM Code and SMK for all relevant personnel.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated with the latest international maritime rules, regulations, and amendments regarding the ISM Code and SOLAS.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree (S1) Management, Engineering, Physical Science, or possess sailing qualifications and experience as a certified ship officer in accordance with the STCW 1978 Convention.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in shipping company
  • Must hold a valid Designated Person Ashore (DPA) certificate and Lead Auditor certificate from a recognized institution.
  • Understanding of international maritime regulations, specifically the ISM Code and SOLAS
