OPS Visitor Services Staff Assistant
Mission San Luis, a 64-acre living history museum located in Tallahassee, Florida, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented OPS Staff Assistant (Visitor Services Staff Assistant) to staff the El Mercado gift shop. The Visitor Services Assistant must be able to provide excellent customer service. Please submit a resume and cover letter detailing any work experience and explaining why you are the best candidate. Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties:
• Provide excellent customer service
• Serve as front-of-house team member staffing the Welcome Desk and El Mercado Gift Shop
• Answer questions, sell museum tickets and merchandise, accept memberships, direct guests around site, and answer and transfer phone calls
• Assist with checking-in school and group tours, collecting fees, and orienting them to the museum site
• Conduct opening and closing procedures of the Visitor Center and El Mercado Gift Shop
• Assist Visitor Center and El Mercado Manager with merchandising, inventory control, pricing, deliveries, and other duties as assigned
• Maintain daily visitor statistics and end-of-day reporting
• Help to enforce museum policies and ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all visitors
• Other duties assigned, including but not limited to database work, assist with event set-up/clean-up, docenting tours, etc.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
• Ability to learn and follow Department of State and Mission San Luis policies and procedures
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as being self-motivated
• Ability to lift, carry, and/or push items up to 30 pounds
• Ability to bend, stoop, squat, reach, stretch and/or twist
Schedule: Must be available to work both Saturday and Sunday. Weekday schedule based on needs of Mission San Luis normal operating hours (Tuesday through Sunday, 9:30am until 4:30pm). May be asked to work occasional evening for special events.
Full-time Work hours: 40 hours per week
Pay: $15.00 per hour
