Minimum Qualifications:
Six years of direct professional experience or master’s degree.
One year of professional library experience in reference services.
Preferences:
Master’s degree in library/information science, archives or public history.
Juris Master’s or a Juris Doctorate
Proficiency in using legal research databases.
Proficiency in legal terminology knowledge
Strong reference skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for developing, maintaining and managing the Capitol Branch Library. Acts as the solo professional staff member at that location. Performs circulation and interlibrary loan activities. Participates in maintaining the catalog and weeding and binding of the collection.
Provides complex reference and research services as requested by state agency personnel and the general public. Provides complex online searches of multiple electronic database services for bibliographic citations and full-text articles on subjects requested by patrons. Assists users in research directing their use of multiple sources and collections. Utilizes materials in all formats from all collections. Keeps appropriate statistics regarding the usage of collection.
Promotes the State Library and services, especially related to the Capitol Branch, through presentations, webinars, tours and other types of targeted communication.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of library and information science.
Ability to provide reference and research services to library users.
Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work activities.
Knowledge of automated library systems.
Ability to work with a variety of computer applications
