DORADO, PUERTO RICO (NATIONWIDE SEARCH) — A wonderful family in Dorado, Puerto Rico, is seeking a FULL-TIME LIVE-IN OR OUT NANNY to join their household and care for their three bright and inquisitive children: a 4-year-old boy, an 8-year-old girl, and a 9-year-old boy. These outgoing and curious children love to ask questions, explore, and engage with the world around them. The family is looking for a calm, confident, and emotionally grounded nanny. Someone who is safety-conscious with a great deal of patience who can command respect while remaining warm, friendly, and approachable. Experience working with children with differing needs and/or an occupational therapy (OT) background is highly valued.
A live-out nanny is preferred, but they are open to a live-in arrangement or potentially assisting with separate housing in Puerto Rico for the right fit. The nanny must be willing to live in during periods when Dad is traveling; however, working hours will not change. Live-in accommodations include a private bedroom and bathroom in both Puerto Rico and Connecticut, with the Puerto Rico home offering a side entrance for added privacy.
The schedule may be structured in one of two ways: either Monday–Thursday from 7:00 AM–8:00 PM with Fridays from 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, or a Monday–Friday split schedule from 7:00 AM–8:00 PM that includes an unpaid mid-day break between completing household responsibilities and returning for school pick-up around 2:30 PM. The position guarantees 40 hours per week, with some flexibility around how those hours are distributed across the schedule. The nanny will begin the day assisting with morning routines, school drop-offs, and household tasks while the children are in school, such as light housekeeping, children’s laundry, meal prep, running errands, and walking the family’s two small dogs (preferred but not required). In the afternoons and evenings, the nanny will work alongside Mom to manage school pick-ups, after-school activities, homework support, and evening routines including dinner, bath time, and bedtime.
The family is eager to welcome a long-term caregiver as an extension of their family. They will remain in Puerto Rico through late May before relocating to Greenwich, CT, for the summer months (June–August). They will return to Puerto Rico for the 2026–2027 school year (August–May) and plan to relocate back to Greenwich in June 2027, likely remaining there thereafter. They have an upcoming trip planned to travel to Madrid and throughout Spain in May and may also travel during school breaks. Trips are typically no longer than a week. Travel is required!
The family lives in a beautiful home near the beach and enjoys spending time on the water. The nanny must be a strong swimmer and comfortable supervising children in the ocean. A car will be provided for work-related transportation, and the nanny must be comfortable driving golf carts, which are the primary mode of transportation within the community. Spanish-speaking ability, or the ability to comfortably get by conversationally in Spanish is highly preferred and would be especially helpful for navigating the island and daily life.
The household includes two small, friendly King Charles Cavaliers who love people and enjoy sitting on laps, so comfort around dogs is essential. The family is seeking a warm, engaging, steady, and adaptable nanny who is attentive, fully present, and not distracted by their phone while caring for the children. The ideal candidate is patient, confident, and emotionally intuitive. Someone who can set boundaries, remain calm under pressure, and foster a respectful, structured environment while still being friendly and approachable. A minimum of six years of professional childcare experience is required.
Benefits include paid sick days, holidays, and vacation. Pay is negotiable depending on experience and paid via payroll. Start date is ASAP.
